Flying House art collective presents its inaugural event, the Flying House Art Fair! The Flying House Art Fair project is intended to invite artistic energy into the Barclay neighborhood and greater Charles Village area by bringing the community’s attention to an up-and-coming space for creatives and small businesses. This year, our Flying House Art Fair project will occupy the historic James E. Hooper House at 100 E 23 Street, Baltimore. Flying House Art Fair will include an art market featuring regional vendors, free community art workshops led by the Flying House team and other local creatives, and curated book exhibitions from local bookstores. In total, we plan to invite between six and twelve Baltimore-based artists as vendors and exhibitors with no fee. Art market booths will be arranged in Hooper House’s outdoor space, with awnings provided for shade. This space is adjacent to the first floor restaurant. On the second, third and fourth floors, workshop and display spaces will fill the common areas which connect Hooper House’s studios and workspaces. We hope this integration will also bring exposure to the permanent artists and businesses.
