St. Mark’s Lutheran Church presents a public arts event featuring our Patrick J. Murphy manual pipe organ. We will host a screening of the original 1923 silent film The Hunchback of Notre Dame with the accompaniment played live on the organ by St Mark’s cantor and esteemed director of the Maryland Opera, Mr. James Harp. We will provide the entire film event, including classic theatre snacks with necessary equipment, free of charge. Operatic costuming will be encouraged, and with the funding we hope to secure performers to host the event. We intend to offer a living wage to staff contributing to this event, including our cantor, custodian, and performers.
