Michele’s Haven has been facilitating free line dance classes for the past five years. Our project have received funding for over the past two years from BOPA to host our line dance class and have been very successful. Our project is a line dancing event and will take place at the Councilwoman Rita Church Community Center located in East Baltimore for adults 25 and older. The class will be free and open to the public and is wheelchair accessible. Michele’s Haven will provide healthy tips on what areas of the body they are working and provide handouts for takeaway. In addition to getting the older adults engaged in a healthy physical activity, line dancing is a perfect exercise for ❖Stimulating the brain ❖ Reducing stress and depression ❖ Reducing risk of Alzheimer’s and dementia ❖ Increasing mental capacity ❖ Improving posture and balance ❖ Toning the body ❖ Strengthening the bones and muscles ❖ Providing opportunity to socialize and meet people ❖ It’s FUN!!!
