Full Circle Dance Company (FCDC) will present a free, movement-based workshop designed for individuals of all ages and abilities on October 8, 2024 at Morton Street Dance Center in Baltimore City. The Power to Dance Community Workshop will bring participants together with dancers from Full Circle Dance Company to share ideas, stories, movement themes, and thoughts relevant to the various dimensions of power including energy, strength, physical power, and political, social, historical, and interpersonal power. Participants will delve into these concepts through interactive and creative sessions featuring live music and facilitated by FCDC Company Director Donna L. Jacobs, a nationally recognized teacher with 40 years of experience teaching people of all ages. The workshop will also feature a mini performance by Full Circle Dance company followed by a talkback session with the dancers and choreographers, providing an opportunity for audience feedback that will actively shape Full Circle Dance Company’s professional work. This ongoing commitment to incorporating artistic input from community members into the creation and planning of future works ensures that their voices and experiences are reflected in Full Circle Dance Company performances.
