Somewhere Between: A Living Art Experience is a free immersive exhibition inspired by Baltimore artist Nai Turner’s The In-Between painting series. The event will transform selected artworks into three-dimensional environments using live models, theatrical staging, sound, subtle movement, and interactive installations. Visitors will move through living scenes exploring what it means to exist between hardship and healing, uncertainty and clarity, survival and rest. Models will initially appear frozen within each environment before gradually moving or delivering brief spoken reflections, blurring the boundaries between painting, performance, and everyday life. Guests will complete the statement, “I am somewhere between ______ and ______,” and suspend their responses within a growing community installation. By the end of the event, the collected reflections will form a visual portrait of Baltimore residents navigating change and becoming. The experience will be free, open to the public, and accessible to audiences with no previous arts experience.
