SUMMARY:The Art of Haitian Beadwork
DESCRIPTION:A workshop focused on education and exploration of the art of H
 aitian beadwork. As part of the workshop\, participants will be offered an
  immersive introduction to the historical and cultural foundations of Hait
 ian crafting practices. The session will explore the history and symbolism
  of Haitian sequins flags and artistic depictions of everyday life in Hait
 i\, highlighting their intricate sequin and beadwork traditions. The works
 hop will begin and end with a guided meditation facilitated by an experien
 ced practitioner in order to promote patience\, creativity\, and relaxatio
 n. Attendees will learn both foundational and advanced techniques for work
 ing with sequins and beads\, gaining hands-on experience in crafting their
  own pieces. The session will also involve time for reflection and an oppo
 rtunity to get printed pictures from a photo booth to use in their art pie
 ces.
